Being fifty means, we have to work harder, and we do have less energy. However, the energy comes back as soon as we correct the hormonal imbalance and if we stay disciplined with the diet. By diet, I do not mean, starve yourself. Fifty means we have to have a fresh, honest look at our daily menu.
Cellulite is a symptom of metabolic imbalance, correct your metabolic system and you correct not only cellulite BUT the lymphatic and immune systems as well. In South Africa, we should start to prepare our bodies against the onslaught of winter's fury, if we start now we have a good chance.
Largely the minerals present in the tissues power our metabolic system, and these minerals are mainly sodium and potassium. These two minerals form a pump that speeds nutrients into the cells while speeding rubbish out. Congestion will slow this process down - and cellulite will form, hence, cellulite is a symptom of metabolic imbalance.
If our sodium intake is high - which it is with a diet of McDonald, Kentucky, tinned foods, take away foods, fast foods and the list goes on - then we have a sodium buildup that in addition to encouraging water retention might lead to decreased cell activity - sluggish metabolic system!
Potassium is the mineral that naturally counterbalance sodium. Potassium predominates inside the cells and sodium is found mainly in the fluid surrounding the cells.
Firm healthy tissue depends upon efficient nourishment.
POTASSIUM HIGH FOOD
Banana contains 451mg potassium and 1mg Sodium
English cucumber 500mg potassium and 6mg sodium
All fruits are great supporters of our skin, baked potatoes are high in potassium and low in sodium, but watch out what you add to your potato.
Soups made from pulses such as beans, kidney beans, lima beans, lentils and chickpeas could give you a full complement of potassium and protein as well, and you need protein for muscle strength.
Avocadoes are very high in potassium as is a carrot. Shred a carrot over your baked potato or in your salad-delicious and so good for the skin.
Remember preserve the potassium in your food - steam or cook in as little water as possible.
I do make a wonderful Aroma Oil - Rosehip, Avocado, Evening Primrose, Jojoba and Wheat germ oils are my base for this amazing anti-cellulite oil, of course I do add the fast acting aroma oils to assist the body's elimination processes and to help with sagging skin.
You at home could start with skin brushing, followed by a shower or bath (my body detox salts could help with the eliminating processes and will stimulate the lymphatic system), then your body is ready for my aroma oil.
Please be sure to look at what you eat and when. Try to drink fresh vegetable juices at night instead of a meal. Remember we are fifty it takes more time, more energy and more determination to stay FABULOUS.
Lots of love
